Newsletter 6 November 2016

Committee Meeting Monday 7 November – 7pm at the Vikings Tuggeranong Town Centre Club. All welcome.

New Kit – Anna Welfare

Our wonderful Uniform Co-ordinator (Luke Lowes) has arranged with Champion Systems (our new uniform supplier) to have access to samples of the kit for members to view and try on for size.  He will bring them on Monday night 7 November – 7pm at the Vikings Tuggeranong Town Centre.

Jackie Fairweather Memorial Triathlon 12 November 2016 – Maggie Welfare

We’re running our famous BBQ at the Jackie Fairweather memorial triathlon and are looking for some helpers.  The first race of the day kicks off at 7:30am and there are events (including our novices first race) right up till presentations at 1:30pm.  Please let Maggie know if you can help out with organising, setup/pack down, for any amount of time on the day or in any other way you can think of.

Feedback from October Committee meeting – Rod Harrod

A little feedback from our October Committee meeting of the Vikings Triathlon Club.  The two most important items discussed were uniforms and coaches.  On Uniforms, Luke Lowes, has done a great job to take over all the stock and put us in a position to move forward.  We will be selling some old stock at reduced prices and progressively moving to a new arrangement with a new supplier.  On coaching, Emma Parker has already distributed a survey for people to complete and is looking at boosting our number of coaches who can provide sessions for all of us to enjoy.

Novice Dinner 12 November – Open invitation to all club members – Tony McCormack

To celebrate our newest members completing their first triathlon next Saturday we are holding a celebration dinner at the Erindale Vikings Club, in the Bistro from 6pm.  All club members and partners are welcome to attend and to assist our novice members celebrate realising this challenge.  If you could let Tony know if you will be attending and if you will be bringing anyone with you that would be great as he needs to let the club know final number by Friday 10 Nov. Tony can be contacted on 0429010543.

Novice Update – Information Session Global Health Services this Thursday 6pm 10 November – Tony McCormack

This will be our last information session for the program and it could be argued it is the most important session we hold, as it is all about helping your body cope with the stress of triathlon racing.  The session will be held in the offices of Global Health Centre, Suite 305 Woden Centre, 20 Bradley street, Woden ACT 2606.

From All Club Members

Good Luck Novices have a fantastic time out there on Saturday and well done to all the dedicated coaches who have worked so hard to get you ready for your first race. Enjoy the day and the celebrations afterwards.

Don’t forget to support our sponsors and to say thankyou when you get a chance.
