A QUICK UPDATE!

I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend.  Plenty of Vikings out and about, plus we finished off the holiday Monday with a walk up Mt Tennant. Bit cloudy and cold at the top, we only got the spectacular views on the lookout spots on the way up and back. Another walk or run coming up for sure.

Tuggeranong parkrun

Results for parkrunday 26 March – 17 Vikings were out parkrunning at 4 different locations last weekend. 13 in Tuggeranong, 1 in Merimbula, 2 in Shellharbour and 1 in St Peters.

Melanie was down the coast again, sharing her 10 parkruns equally between Merimbula and Tuggeranong.

A bit further north up the coast Humphrey and Megan Mc were first timer’s at Shellharbour. One of the locals recorded a new fastest finishing time, lowering the mark by almost 20 seconds with a speedy 15.44.

And further north again, Breanna added to her growing and impressive list of parkrun tourist locations at St Peters in Sydney. I wonder if anybody pre-warned her about THE hill at the halfway point!

Meanwhile in Tuggeranong, there were some strong runs including 4 out of 13 Vikings PB’ing.

At the pointy end of the field Adam finished 3rd overall, running his 3rd fastest time and the 3rd time in the 17 minute zone. Mandy, whose last parkrun was 9 months ago obviously benefitted from all those Viking’s training sessions over summer, finishing 5th fastest lady, PB’ing for the 3rd time in a row and chopping 2.35 off. Andrew had his 5th PB from 11 parkruns taking another 11 seconds off. Rebecca (C) had her 3rd parkrun with her 2nd PB in a row, taking an impressive 1.43 off. Our other Rebecca (D) on her 4th parkrun clocked her 2nd PB also taking an impressive 1.32 off her previous mark.

Another Viking who was prominent at Tuggeranong parkrun was Gavin Mcintye. Gavin is one two Vikings that take turns as Run Director. Because he completed his rostered job, it delayed his 100th parkrun till at least next parkrunday. Gavin will be the 3rd Viking to clock up 100 parkruns.

Don’t forget your barcode #dfyb. All this week’s Tuggeranong results are on the parkrun website.
