GARY LILLEY - Aus Triathlon DEVELOPMENT COACH
Gary is a life member of the Vikings Triathlon Club. Gary is an accredited AusTriathlon Development Coach and has over 15 years of coaching experience. Gary also assisted in the establishment of the Vikings Triathlon Novice Program. As an accomplished triathlete and multisport athlete, Gary has competed in 25 Ironman races (PB 9:44), including 2 World Championships at Kona; 3 XTERRA World Championships Maui; 1 Long course World Championships; 1 Triathlon World Championships; 2 XPD and 7 Geoquest 48hr Adventure races; 2 solo Sri Chinmoy Triple Triathlons.
Jonathan Wilkinson - Aus Triathlon DEVELOPMENT COACH
Jonathan is the Club President and an accreditated Aus Triathlon Development Coach, Jono has over a decade of experience in triathlon and multisport, competing across age group categories, and in all triathlon distances including multiple 70.3 and 140.6 Ironman events.Currently coaching our Sunday Swim Squad, many of the Novice program sessions, as well as individuals within the club, providing advice and programs covering all aspects of Swim, Bike and Run.
Bron Adams - Aus Triathlon FOUNDATION COACH
Bron has competed in triathlon since 1991 developing from a very, very novice triathlete to a top 20 female Ironman in 2000. Taking a break from triathlon after her 3rd Ironman in 2005, Bron rediscovered trail running in 2020 with the support of the Vikings tri run coach, Brendan Egan and club member training buddies, achieving solid age group results in the Stromlo 50 in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Bron also completed the Capital to Coast 100k stage race in 2022. Bron returned to triathlon in February 2023 (Husky Sprint) and is now training for challenge Canberra Olympic distance in November.
Bron has always had an interest in supporting other people to engage with triathlon and has coached cycling and triathlon with the Canberra Females in Training group and coached novice women's cycling in Brisbane. Bron has previously coached and coordinated Vikings novice programs (2006 and 2007).
Bron is an accredited Triathlon Foundation Coach, and is currently coaching the Novice program.
BRENDAN EGAN - Athletics Coach
Brendan has been widely involved in Vikings Triathlon for many years as Treasurer , President and most recently our resident Run Coach. Brendan joined Vikings Tri in 2006 and has many achievements particularly in regards to trail running and ultra distance events. For several years now he has consistently delivered two morning sessions every week combining a balance of flat vs hills.
Megan McIntyre - Aus Triathlon DEVELOPMENT COACH
Megan was awarded her Aus Triathlon Development Coach accreditation in 2010. Megan ran the Vikings TRYstars program in 2009 and assisted coaching in the ACT Junior Development Program working alongside national and international coaches. For many years Megan was the Vikings Triathlon swim and run coach but has recently stepped aside to focus more on her own training. Megan commenced triathlon racing in 2006 and has competed in a variety of distances. In 2015 she completed the Australian Port Macquarie Ironman which she highlights as a special experience. She is passionate about seeing people achieve their goals. Currently not actively coaching, but never say never.
