Junior Program

Vikings Junior Program.

Age group 7-13 years of age

Targeted towards developing mateship and social skills, water confidence, basic bike and transition skills. Most of all, we aim to make it fun for the kids to participate.

Commencing in Early January 2018

The program will follow the pattern of run, bike and transition practice on Friday evenings at the Mt Stromlo Forest Park starting at 6 PM and swimming practice at 3 PM on Sunday afternoons at the Lakeside Leisure Centre in Tuggeranong (YMCA). It is likely that we also hold a few sessions at locations around Lake Burley Griffin (usually Black Mountain Peninsular) to practice race day conditions.

Development Coach Shona Hutchinson is coordinating our program this year with the assistance of a range of our qualified club coaches and volunteers.

Age 14-16 may be suitable for our junior program or novice program depending on fitness level or physical size. Please speak to our coaching coordinator for guidance on suitability for the different programs.

Special needs individuals: We are a diverse club and encourage all kids to participate including those with special needs. Please contact the coaching coordinator if your child would like to join us.
